Drawing on the ILF’s case data, interviews, and legal analysis, this report examines the gendered factors that bring women and girls into contact with Myanmar’s criminal justice system. It also explores the barriers women and girls face after arrest, the lasting impacts of detention, and the critical role of quality, holistic legal aid in protecting rights, reducing harm, and advancing gender-sensitive justice in Myanmar.
